A car that was parked on Sherman Avenue in Merrick was damaged sometime between late Thursday and early Friday.

According to Anthony D'Avanzo, who owns the vehicle, his Maza CX-7 has a rock, which he described "the size of a softball" thrown through the side window between Thursday at 11 p.m. and Friday at 6 a.m.

If someone catches him, don't call police...Those poor souls will arrest him and some liberal lawyer and judge will have him back out on the street the same day. Instead, lock him up and gag him in your garage. Let's all take turns breaking each and every bone in his hands. That will be justice!

Thanks. We are on other side near Clark. These types of crimes are happening all over Merrick. Thanks for the heads up.

Our cars were entered last week and a cell phone was taken. Both cars were in our driveway on Sherman Avenue between Hendrickson and Jenkins.

Merrick is going to the dogs! There's too many crazies out here trying to take what they can...what can we do to protect ourselves?? The recent Mepham shooting threats, the two morons caught loitering and looking to breaking and entering as reported 2 weeks ago: http://merrick.patch.com/groups/breaking-news/p/men-busted-for-multiple-attempted-merrick-burglaries The constant (as regular as monthly once or twice sometimes) of holdup at gunpoint of the ATT/Verizon/RadioShack/GameStop stores on Sunrise Highway all point out to a rise in hoodlums living in neighboring cities? We need more alert citizens and neighborhood watch. I am tired of these losers not wanting to work but in trying to make an easy living off other's hard work.

The cops' hands are tied. They arrest a punk & some Tauro Law school grad gets them off with the help of a politically appointed judge who accepts a pleas bargain. It's an everyday ocurrence of our judicial system. If we could only get our own justice - with our own hands, maybe these 'wasteoids' will see light and just sit back and collect their section 8 handouts and be happy.

I never understood our judicial system. It is all caught in bureaucracy and absolute waste of time.. Honest tax paying citizens bear the brunt of all of the society's ills while the wasteoids and the politically connected walk scott free.. Its about time we wake up from being lead to the slaughter house as cattle.. If only it was approved for vigilante justice, I would vote for busting these thugs bones..but unfortunately the laws say otherwise.. I am only concerned for each of the honest citizen's safety and well being.

Only if you get caught. Be careful and carry a big stick my friend (unless you're licensed to pack the heat)!!!
