Everyone  mentions power restoration in Merrick by Wednesday evening. Nobody mentions all the homes south of Merrick Road that are still left in the dark. I know many houses are damaged, but there are just as many just sitting without power in the cold. We can't find anyone to give us a straight answer. All we want is information.

Renee- I couldn't agree with you more. We are on "old" Wynsum and had no flooding. Our neighbors are dry as well and still in the cold and dark. I have emailed or tweeted Dave Denenberg,, LIPAnews , Nassau County and anyone else I can think of with no answers . I even tried to get ahold of Empire who is supposed to be the electrical inspectors. There is no one home during the day to even let someone in. It is really disgraceful.

Cheryl road also without power despite fact we had no damage at all. We need some clarification regarding certification for power restoration. LIPA handed out documents on Tuesday nite for us to self certify. Does anyone have information about this. We don't know if we should believe that this will be OK.

Documents? I haven't seen a LIPA truck since we lost power and no one handed out anything to us. We are 7 houses south of Merrick Road and can see the lights of those people WITH power shining brightly.

South of Merrick road here. Have not seen a lipa truck in days and have not witnessed the repair of one single down line to date. Our anger is at a boiling point.

We're on Frankel, just south of Merrick Rd; still waiting to see those inspectors, no sightings so far. We too have no water damage, but no matter, we still have to wait. The lack of info from LIPA is disgrace; have been trying to just get a time frame for the inspections so we don't have to sit all day in a cold house, but no luck. Busy signals, no answers, voice mail, wrong info--this is really bad management.

Same boat. Maybe emailing, tweeting and calling our elected officials would help. We voted for them. I bet they have power
