Letter to the Editor: Thank You for Fraser Park Eggstravaganza Success

Dear Editor,

The North and Central Merrick Civic Association and the Printing Emporium were so pleased to host the 2013 Eggstravaganza at Fraser Park on Saturday.

We would like to especially thank the ladies from the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 1282, Tina Flynn’s Girl Scout Troop 2398 and the children who not only volunteered their time to stuff over 1,000 eggs, but manned the tables on that brisk Saturday morning.  We could not have put on this event without them.

Legislator Dave Denenberg brought candy for the kids and along with Town Clerk Mark Bonilla, cut the ribbon that sent approximately 300 of our precious little ones, scampering through the fields, gathering as many eggs as they could.

Of course, the star of the day was the Easter Bunny who made a special trip to Merrick to visit our children.  Special thanks to Pat Trapea for sitting with each child and making their holiday season eggs-traordinary.

The event’s success is largely due to the hard work and enthusiasm of a community coming together to keep this Merrick tradition alive.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Claudia Borecky, President, NCMCA
