Subject: RE: MTA PD Parking at LIRR Merrick Station

Good day, Mr. Gerakaris.

I am in receipt of your e-mail in which you write of being in touch with MTA P.D. Captain John Castagna regarding the problem of illegal MTA Police car parking at the Merrick Station of the LIRR.

Today, January 23rd, there has been a change, but not a proper one. Please see the attached file.

The subject vehicle, Car 587, has simply been moved from one illegal parking action to a different one, blocking one of the 15-Minute Only parking stalls for at least four hours, even with a vacant police parking stall right nearby.

Again, I request your corrective attention to this matter.

Thank you.

Take an interest in the world at large, Zach. You'll find it far more interesting than the tiiny little spheroid you presently seem to occupy. This police car problem almost caused a car crash in the Merrick LIRR station some while back. Fortunately, Mr. Gerakaris took an interst in the issue and there was some improvement made in the situation. We just have a little further to go, even if you object..

What;s your next project? Write to Ed Mangano about how the trees in Merrick lack any leaves? How the bathroom at the train station smells like... A BATHROOM. Or what about the fact that there is a parking problem in the streets, and that should be illegal

I was pleased to see on the morning of January 24th that Car 587 was properly parked in a Police Only parking stall. As it happened, the entire length of the Pick-up and Drop-off Zone was occupied when I arrived, with perhaps six private vehicles all discharging passengers at the same time. Had an MTA Police car been parked in that zone, blocking it, it would have been a considerably more difficult situation for commuters. I assume that you had success in addressing the issue and I do hope that the problem will not recur. Thank you very much for your time and attention. John Dunn 516-378-2149
