The July 17, 2012 meeting of the North Merrick Public Library Board of Trustees marked the appointment of officers for the 2012-13 fiscal year. William A. Pezzulo, who began his presidency in 2006, was re-elected to the position of board president. Marion Schurade, who began serving on the Board in 2008, was re-elected as vice president.
The newest trustee of the library board, Richard C. Smith, was sworn in at the May 8, 2012 meeting to serve a five-year term. Mr. Smith ran unopposed, receiving 101 votes. He joins Mark V. Davis and Barbara Behrens, both library trustees since 2005 and 2010, respectively.
