  2. Temple Israel Reopens Hebrew School: On Monday, Temple Israel of South Merrick celebrated the reopening of their Hebrew School after it was damaged by Hurricane Sandy.
  3. Student Approached by Stranger on Grand Avenue: An eighth grader that goes to Grand Avenue Middle School was approached by a stranger in a sedan Wednesday morning, according to an email to parents from Principal Carlo A. Conte.
  4. Merrick Senior Center Reopens After Being Damaged by Sandy: Seniors gathered at the Merrick Senior Center Monday to celebrate the ribbon cutting for the freshly renovated building that needed to be gutted due to Hurricane Sandy.
  5. Vine Wine Bar to Host St. Jude's Fundraiser: The Vine Wine Bar, located at 2259 Merrick Rd, is welcoming the public to their second annual fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital on Thursday, April 18 from 6-8 p.m. in honor of the late Judy Mione.
