Patch is hearing reports that many gas stations around the area have run out of gas, and residents are packing area pumps to get what's left.
On Bellmore Patch's Facebook page, Maria Gaines said she was able to get gas in Merrick Wednesday night.
"I was able to get some in North Merrick last night on the corner of Merrick Avenue and Jerusalem Avenue," she said. "They had some this morning, and lines were down Jerusalem Avenue."
Elizabeth Secondino told Patch on Merrick Patch's Facebook page that she went all the way to Happauge to fill up on gas, and Victoria Ryan added that she found some gas in Merrick.
"Mobil on Merrick Avenue had as of an hour ago," Ryan wrote at 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
