According to representatives from the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District, there was no structural damage done to any of the buildings in the district.
This includes Mepham, Kennedy and Calhoun High Schools, as well as Grand Avenue and Merrick Avenue Middle Schools.
The decision was made to close schools on Monday, and officials are expected to meet during the day to discuss plans regarding Tuesday.
