Halloween Spooktacular Comes to Merrick

Editor’s Note: The article and photos were written and submitted by Susan Grieco.

The North and Central Merrick Civic Associations, along with American Legion Women’s Auxiliary Unit 1282, the Printing Emporium, Legislators Dave Denenberg and Dave McDonough, hosted a Halloween Spooktacular in Fraser Park in Merrick last month.

With the help of Brownie Troop 2398, who volunteered their time to help out with the event, neighborhood children were treated to a day of fun and treats. In addition to face painting and tattooing, kids made Halloween cards to send to the troops, and they were even turned into mummies with the help of clowns and toilet paper.

Cookies, cupcakes and other goodies were provided free of charge for all who attended.

Enjoy a photo gallery of the day’s events.
