Merrick Woman Seeks Funding For Music Scholarship

Talonda Thomas of Merrick has started an online campaign to raise money for scholarships at The New York Musician’s Center.

The campaign has raised $125 will a goal of $5,000.

The page reads:

The New York Musician’s Center was founded in 2006 on the belief that EVERYONE deserves equal access to a musical performing arts education, regardless of age or ability. We provide vocal and instrumental training to all students who are passionate about the arts and wish to pursue musical studies. 20% of our students receive full scholarships to attend our program and many others receive reduced tuition.

We have some families in need of assistance and we would love your help providing these students with music instruction, instruments, and supplies. All of the proceeds from this fund will go directly towards meeting those needs.
