The North and Central Merrick Civic's Merrick Avenue Beautification Committee will be holding its second day of planting on Saturday, June 9 at 9:30 a.m., in which we are planting and weeding the base of trees that line Merrick Avenue's business areas beginning at the tree directly in front of Savall Drugs, 393 Merrick Avenue. Rain date Sunday, June 10 at 9:30 a.m.
You may have spotted us last Sunday as we installed posts at selected locations along Merrick Avenue. Within the next few weeks, our Adopt-A-Tree Program will be installing plaques naming businesses and individuals who have adopted trees.
If anyone is interested in adopting a tree, $100 will give you a plaque with your business or family name on it and plants at the foot of the adopted tree. We will be placing our second order of plaques very shortly.
