Driving in the Safe Lane Program

The
Community Parent Center in partnership with the Bellmore-Merrick CHSD and
Legislator David Denenberg, will bring the highly acclaimed “Driving in the
Safe Lane” program to the Bellmore-Merrick CHSD on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at
7:30pm.  The 90-minute lecture program will be held at the Brookside
School, located at 1260 Meadowbrook Road.

The
program brings together a retired police officer and the parent of a teen
driver who was tragically killed in a car crash.  The program educates
parents, new and prospective teen drivers about safety measures, New York State
driving laws, and parental responsibilities.  Since the program’s
inception, it has grown in popularity for its comprehensive approach and impact
on those who attend.

Motor
vehicle crashes are the leading cause of injury and death for 16-19 year
