CHSD to Announce New Superintendent on April 3

School officials announced that a replacement for Henry Kiernan, the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District’s Superintendent who plans on retiring at year’s end, will be announced at the April 3 Board of Education meeting.

Kiernan has spent 39 years in education, including eight in Bellmore-Merrick. He will step down on July 1.

“It’s been a pleasure to serve the parents and students of this community,” Kiernan said. “I’m looking forward to having time for my wife, children and grandchildren. I would like to thank the Board, both current and past members, for their support and dedication towards excellence in this district, as well as my staff, administrators and teachers for all their hard work over the years and our many wonderful accomplishments with our students.”
