March 24: Spring Rivalry, Importance of Play

Five things you need to know today.

1. The Friends of the Merrick Library do some pretty special things for the library and volunteer their time to do so. The monthly meeting is Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Head down to figure out what you can do to help.

2. Welcome to the first spring rivalry of the year. Calhoun is taking on Mepham in a cross-town boys rivalry on the lacrosse field. The game starts at 4 p.m.

3. SEPTA is having a professional join the group to speak about the importance of play for children. Psychiatrist Dr. Bradford Tepper will be on hand at Old Mill Road school starting at 8 p.m. on Thursday.
