A tax deadline extension has been approved by the governor for several school districts, including North Merrick.
Hempstead
Town Supervisor Kate Murray and Receiver of Taxes Donald X. Clavin, Jr.
had requested the extension for all school districts within the
township, however the governor has signed an order that only includes
districts which have independently requested an extension.
Accordingly, residents of the North Merrick School District may pay their school taxes, without penalty, until Dec. 4.
Residents
of all other districts in Hempstead Town must make their payments by
not later than Tuesday, Nov. 13, to avoid incurring a penalty.
