McDONOUGH HOSTING BLOOD DRIVE ON THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 28

Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R,C,I-Merrick) announced today he will be hosting a blood drive in support of Long Island Blood Services. The blood drive will be on Thursday, February 28, 2:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. at the American Legion Post 1749, 1298 Newbridge Road, North Bellmore.

“Blood banks are always looking for donors, and your support today can save someone’s life tomorrow,” said McDonough. “Without the generous support of concerned residents, our hospitals would be facing an even greater blood shortage. Through your donation we can better the lives of those in our community, both young and old. I am proud to host this event with Long Island Blood Services.”   Long Island Blood Services will also be providing two tickets to an upcoming New York Mets game to donors.

To be a donor you must:
- Bring valid photo or signature identification,
- Weigh at least 110 lbs,
- Be age 16-75 (16-year-olds must have parental permission, age 76 and over need doctor’s note),
- Eat well and be hydrated prior to appointment, and
- Not have gotten a tattoo within 12 months (unless applied in New Jersey).
