LOCAL OFFICIALS GATHER TO PROMOTE SENIOR ID PROGRAM
Assemblyman Dave McDonough (R,C,I-Merrick) today joined Town of Hempstead Supervisor Kate Murray and Town Clerk Nasrin G. Ahmad to host a Senior I.D. Program. The event provided seniors with free I.D. cards that include a photo and information useful to emergency medical technicians and physicians.
“Having the necessary information during an urgent situation can sometimes mean the difference between life and death,” said McDonough. “In the case of an automobile accident or other medical emergency, EMTs may need essential information like allergies, medications a patient is taking or significant medical history. This program allows seniors to have this information in a defined location so that first responders can access it quickly and easily. I want to thank our town clerk and town supervisor for their support and participation in the program.”

The Town Clerk's office provides FREE Town of Hempstead Senior I.D. Cards, complete with a resident's personal data, physicians' contact information and emergency phone numbers. Allergies and other vital information can also be printed on these wallet-sized cards. Seniors who were unable to attend but would like to participate can attend the next program on April 24 at the North Merrick library located at 1691 Meadowbrook Rd, North Merrick from 10:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. You can also download the application form at: http://www.townofhempstead.org/files/pdfs/tc_senior-id-appl.pdf.
