Denenberg Brings No-Cost Flu Shots to Merrick

Residents can obtain flu shots at no-cost at the Jewel Quinn Senior Center on Tuesday, Oct. 22 and Thursday, Oct. 24 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.  Nassau County Legislator Dave Denenberg (D-Merrick), in conjunction with Duane Reade, is proud to be providing them.

Influenza is a serious disease that can lead to hospitalization and sometimes even death.  Every flu season is different, and the influenza infection can affect people differently.  Even healthy people can get very sick from the flu and spread it to others.  Flu vaccines cause antibodies to develop in the body about two weeks after vaccination.  These antibodies provide protection against infection.
