Douglas Elliman Real Estate has announced that Ethan Leifer of Merrick has joined the firm’s East Norwich office as a licensed real estate salesperson.

 With a successful real estate career in the luxury market, Mr. Leifer’s recent achievements including selling waterfront homes in South Bellmore, multiple properties in Great Neck this year and two homes in Syosset within the past six months, among others. He has sold every one of his listings, and each was under contract in fewer than the average number of days on the market for its area.

 An expert in Long Island’s luxury homes marketplace, Mr. Leifer is the Preferred Agent for many Gold Coast areas including Muttontown, Great Neck, the Brookvilles, Woodbury, Syosset and more on the two largest online real estate sites – Realtor.com and Zillow.com.  He achieved this designation through his understanding of and creativity in marketing homes in this region combined with his large database of buyers and his people skills that lead to successful closings and many referrals.

 Mr. Leifer received his real estate sales license from the LISORE Real Estate School and has earned the prestigious Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist designation and the Certified Negotiation Expert certification.

 In a Long Island real estate marketplace chock full of agents, Mr. Leifer describes his real estate philosophy as focusing on always remembering that his clients have a choice. “That’s why I work hard with each of my clients to make sure I serve their needs completely, whether they are selling a beloved family home or buying a new home to start their future.”

 He says that Long Island’s Gold Coast communities are unique among regional real estate segments. “There are many beautiful high-end properties on the market, but they are not selling,” he says.

 “Why aren’t these homes selling? I believe that the luxury market on Long Island has become stale due to ineffective marketing and limited excitement being drawn to fabulous homes. What’s needed, especially at the high end of the market, is creative thinking and out-of-the-box marketing ideas that will help get homes sold. I look forward to bringing that creativity and excitement to the market.”

 Unique among real estate agents, Mr. Leifer is also an accomplished musician and Cantor, with a skill set that he attributes to helping him hone his relationship skills. After releasing his first Jewish music CD at age 18 and studying music at Brooklyn College, he has spent 13 years as a Cantor, most recently at the Merrick Jewish Centre, which he has served for seven years. Known for his unique Cantorial style which combines prayer with Broadway show tunes to the delight of his congregants and their guests, he became part-time Cantor in Merrick two years ago when he discovered his talents in the real estate arena. He continues to perform across the country and has two CDs on iTunes.
