View Finder: Street Fair Kicks off in Merrick

Merokeans were out in full force Saturday.

Despite the less than stellar weather conditions, Merokeans and visitors from other Nassau County towns packed onto Merrick Avenue for the 22nd annual Merrick Street Fair on Saturday.

The fair, which reopens at 11 a.m. Sunday, features local vendors who set up booths from the Merrick Long Island Rail Road station all the way past Chatterton School. There's also free cotton candy, face painting, a petting zoo and much more.

There's also a massive inflatable slide for the kids to enjoy.
