Summer Styles for the Whole Family

Get all the summer clothes you will need for your whole family - locally.

During spring cleaning sessions, clearing out the closets not only helps to reduce the insurmountable clutter that has accumulated during the past few months, but also makes plenty of room for some sassy summer styles.

What exactly is considered "in" for this upcoming season, though?

Natasha Fussell, the e-commerce strategist from Lonnys clued us in to some of the most fashionable styles for the summer.

Bid adieu to the little black dress, because Fussell said, “Little white dresses have become a definite staple for summer as well, and [our styles] are distinct enough to let you stand out in a crowd.”

Lonny’s exclusive, the iron dress is perfect for a night out at the club with your girlfriends or a fancy summer barbecue. For a couture look, consider the Alice and Olivia Diana dress, which Fussell describes as having “both leather and lace in its construction, with an on-trend, jagged, peplum skirt.”

When summer comes around, you’ll often find yourself running from an afternoon backyard birthday party to cocktails on the water at night with friends. Versatile pieces are an absolute must. Consider using the halston heritage dress as a model, suitable for both day and evening affairs, which Fussell describes as “superlative in taking you from day to night.”

Fashionistas know that staying classy is important year-round, but they recognize that the warmer months are a time to unleash bold, bright and striking patterns and styles. Styles that channel the 70’s are popular, particularly flare leg pants which “have been on everyone’s radar, as their less constricting shape will keep you comfortable in the heat,” advises Fussell.

White spills into pant styles as well, due to the color’s light and airy connotations. Pick up a pair of Citizens of Humanity Angie super flare. Airy and fashionable tops leave their mark with the Gemma Madagascar top and the Hale-Bob chiffon peasant top.

Fussell reminds us that favorite fabrics change from season to season, when told Patch that “one of the best styles to wear in summer is lace and crochet.” Fashionable, light and comfortable, pieces such as the Bailey 44 plantation top will announce your inner style goddess to the world, all the while keeping you cool and serene.

Entirely revamping a wardrobe is not always a budget friendly endeavor, but purchase one or two new pieces to give your clothing selection some vibrance. Wherever you shop, keep these tips in mind to find pieces and fabrics perfect for the blissful summer weather.

Have no fear fellas, as styles for you are available at Inmotion. The store’s website notes that trendy clothing is coming soon, so keep your eyes peeled for the arrival of these soon-to-be-in-stock pieces.

In the mean time, get your sports gear for the spring softball league together with a comfortable pair of open bottom sweatpants in black, gravy or navy. The open bottom will create less constriction on warmer days, but the style will provide some protection when you’re sliding into home. For lounging around the house, pick up a pair of the famous Soffe shorts.

Little ones need new spring and summer styles as well, especially since they seem to grow as quickly as Jack’s beanstalk. So Nikki is the name of the game at Canteen Incorporated.

Let your child channel her inner sports fan in a So Nikki sports jersey perfect for lounging around the house or going to watch a local sporting event with her friends. Shirts with positive slogans such as “Give,” “Happy Day” and “City of Angels” will inspire your child and those around her.
