Robek's to be Replaced by Muscle Maker Grill

Robek's, which is located at 2261 Merrick Rd., will be replaced by Muscle Maker Grill in Merrick, according to a sign in the store's window.

According to its website, Muscle Maker Grill was founded in 1995 by Rod Silva with the goal of offering people a nutritious alternative to fast food restaurants. There are more than 200 stores operating throughout the country.

"Unlike many restaurants that make healthy claims, Muscle Maker Grill does not sacrifice taste to serve healthy options," their website reads. "We pride ourselves on creating healthier versions of your favorite foods that taste great, making it easy and enjoyable to eat healthy. In addition, we cater to all different types of healthy eating lifestyles."

There was no mention as to when the changeover will be taking place, as the sign simply reads "coming soon." Repeated attempts to contact Robek's were unsuccessful.

In October 2008, Robek's, along with two other businesses, were destroyed in a fire. At the time, the business was located further west along Merrick Road where Five Guys and Red Mango are currently housed.

In case you missed it, also recently in Merrick, Patch reported that Max & Gino's relocated on Merrick Road, and La Pink relocated to Merrick Avenue.
