North Merrick Library Elects New Board Members

The newest member, Richard C. Smith, was sworn in at the May meeting.

The July meeting of the North Merrick Public Library Board of Trustees marked the appointment of officers for the 2012-13 fiscal year.

William A. Pezzulo, who began his presidency in 2006, was re-elected to the position of board president. Marion Schurade, who began serving on the Board in 2008, was re-elected as vice president.

The newest trustee of the library board, Richard C. Smith, was sworn in at the May 8 meeting to serve a five-year term. Mr. Smith ran unopposed, receiving 101 votes.

He joins Mark V. Davis and Barbara Behrens, both library trustees since 2005 and 2010, respectively.
