Merrick Road Rite Aid Going Out of Business

Rite Aid, which is located at 2410 Merrick Rd. near the Newbridge Road intersection, will close its doors Thursday.

A clerk at the store told Patch that they lost their lease, which is why the business is leaving Bellmore. He did add that this doesn't affect the two other locations in Bellmore, including 2784 Sunrise Highway and 2260 Jerusalem Avenue.

Rite Aid is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.

A Rite Aid spokeswoman told Patch that the store will be reopening for a liquidation sale on Dec. 21, and that will last through mid January.

The pharmacy files will be transferred to nearby CVS.

"It's a seamless transition," the spokeswoman said. "The customers do not have to do anything."

She also added that Rite Aid is working to place the workers in nearby stores if they want to stay with the company.
