#31 – Volunteer with the Merrick Kiwanis

Business owner or not, you can volunteer to help the Kiwanis Club.

The Kiwanis Club of Merrick was founded in 1949. The club began with just 25 members and has grown to its current membership of 80.

Community service is the primary goal of the Kiwanis Club of Merrick. During the years, its completed numerous community service projects. During the holiday season it raises funds by wrapping presents at Roosevelt Field Mall. It sends children each year to a week of sleep away camp at Kamp Kiwanis. It hosts an annual ball for senior citizens. It collects and distributes food to those in need and also collects school supplies and provides students in need with all the supplies they need to go back to school with.

Just because you don't own a business in Merrick or aren't a member of Kiwanis, doesn't mean that you can't volunteer for some – or all – of their community service efforts. Contact the Kiwanis and see how you can help.
