Pedestrians Struck at Merrick Avenue, Sunrise Highway Intersection
Police said that neither of the injuries sustained are considered serious.
Two pedestrians were struck while crossing the street at the intersection of Merrick Avenue and Sunrise Highway Tuesday, but neither sustained serious injuries.
According to police, the incident occurred at 1:42 p.m., and northbound Merrick Avenue was closed at Sunrise Highway from the turning lane while cops investigated.
It's unknown whether the pedestrians were crossing Sunrise Highway or Merrick Avenue when they were struck.
The two victims were taken to a local hospital for observation, police added.
