Merrick AT&T Store Robbed at Gunpoint

The AT&T Product Center on Sunrise Highway in Merrick was robbed Friday night, police said.

According to detectives, a black male entered the store, located at 235 Sunrise Highway, at 7:49 p.m. and approached two male employees, ages 22 and 29. He forced them to the rear of the business and tied them up.

A second black male entered the store, and the two subjects bagged up an unspecified amount of cell phones and money from the register and fled. No injuries were reported.

The first subject was armed with a black handgun and is described as 160 pounds, wearing a dark brown colored hoodie style sweatshirt, black ski jacket, black pants, black boots, black gloves and a dark colored face mask. The second subject is described as 200 pounds, husky build, 5-foot-9, wearing a black hoodie style sweatshirt, dark colored jacket, baggie blue jeans, dark colored boots and his face was covered.

Detectives request anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.

Store clerks should be trained and armed. If you shoot and kill some of these jerks, maybe they'll think twice.

the problem is these crazies dont think that will happen, and think twice ? if they had the brain to think once, they wouldnt of tried it in the first place, we are not dealing with normal people !!

I with Jo-Ann's suggestion....We've got to do something to teach these turds. What are they going to do with 400 cell phones and ipads anyway? Put them on eBay? Should not the authority try and track these fools down from those resources..

they are gonna sell them cheap at flea markets and alike sales areas, then buy drugs with the money, run out of money, more robberies, its a never ending cycle, if somebody really wanted too, there must be a way to track them down, serial numbers would be my guess !!
