Merrick AT&T Store Robbed at Gunpoint

The AT&T Product Center on Sunrise Highway in Merrick was robbed Friday night, police said.

According to detectives, a black male entered the store, located at 235 Sunrise Highway, at 7:49 p.m. and approached two male employees, ages 22 and 29. He forced them to the rear of the business and tied them up.

A second black male entered the store, and the two subjects bagged up an unspecified amount of cell phones and money from the register and fled. No injuries were reported.

The first subject was armed with a black handgun and is described as 160 pounds, wearing a dark brown colored hoodie style sweatshirt, black ski jacket, black pants, black boots, black gloves and a dark colored face mask. The second subject is described as 200 pounds, husky build, 5-foot-9, wearing a black hoodie style sweatshirt, dark colored jacket, baggie blue jeans, dark colored boots and his face was covered.
