Kennedy Boys Volleyball Wins State Title

The John F. Kennedy High School Boys Volleyball team is a New York State Champion.

The Cougars clinched the title Sunday with three straight wins against Lake Shore at Westhampton Middle School. The scores of the games were 25-17, 25-20 and 25-16.

Gary Anderson was one of the big performers for Kennedy, providing nine kills, eight digs, one ace and one assist in the winning effort, which completed the Cougars’ undefeated season.

“Bellmore played a great match,” Lake Shore Coach John Coyle told the Buffalo News. “They didn’t make a lot of mistakes. They passed well, they served well. They were hitting the ball in the right spots.”
