“It’s been a pleasure to serve the parents and students of this community,” Kiernan said. “I’m looking forward to having time for my wife, children and grandchildren. I would like to thank the Board, both current and past members, for their support and dedication towards excellence in this district, as well as my staff, administrators and teachers for all their hard work over the years and our many wonderful accomplishments with our students.”

Sanford H. Calhoun High School Principal David Seinfeld was among the members of the administration who publicly bade Kiernan a fond farewell.

“On behalf of the principals, we really appreciate the work that you’ve done,” Seinfeld said. “We wish you well, of course, and we wish you luck. To be a part of the work that you did was an experience few of us will ever forget.”
