The Calhoun On Tour Company presents Monty Python’s SPAMALOT!

Celebrating its 40th anniversary, The Calhoun High School On Tour Company is continuing its season with Monty Python’s Spamalot. Performances will be held on March 15th, 21st, and 22nd in Calhoun High School’s auditorium, located at 1786 State St, Merrick, NY 11566. All performances are at 7:30 p.m. Directed by Salvatore Salerno, tickets to Spamalot can be purchased by phone at (516) 992-1377.

Monty Python’s Spamalot is “lovingly ripped off from” the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail which was released in 1975 by the hilarious British comedy troupe, Monty Python. Like the film, the musical follows the famous English legend of King Arthur of Britain and his Knights of the Round Table, however the film and musical contrast in many ways. The original Broadway production (2005) was directed by Mike Nichols and won the Tony Award for Best Musical and along with an additional two awards out of 14 nominations. During it’s initial run it was seen by more than two million people and grossed over $175 million in 1,500 performances.
