Lindsay Lohan is continuing her comeback in 2012.

According to Newsday [paid link], the Merrick native will appear on the third season of the hit show "Glee."

The Los Angeles Times has reported that the appearance comes despite a period of time where the actress was unhappy with the show poking fun at her.

What's most surprising about Lohan's guest appearance is that as recently as last season, the show's writers were making mean jokes about her. The first dig came in a second season episode in late 2010 in which guest star Gwyneth Paltrow, playing a Spanish teacher, taught her class to say sentences en Espanol such as "Lindsay Lohan is totally crazy, right?" and "How many times has Lindsay Lohan been to rehab?"

The troubled actress has made headlines for all of the wrong reasons — including multiple court room appearances — since two drunk driving arrests in 2007, but has recently rejuvenated her career and turned her life around.

The 25-year-old also hosted "Saturday Night Live" in the beginning of March.
