Summer Recipes: Spicy Steak and Potatoes

Sink your teeth into this tantalizing dish.

Go ahead and admit it – you love the taste of sizzling summer favorites like steak and potatoes, but as much as you talk up the new barbecue, standing outside and roasting is not nearly as appetizer as creating these delectable dishes in the comfort of your own air conditioner.

Add some sensational spice to a steak and bursts of flavor to baked potatoes when you try out this recipe.

Ingredients

-Four pounds beef steak top round

-Two 10 oz. bottles of A1 Steak Sauce Bold and Spicy

-Salt

-Pepper

-Two cloves of garlic

-Butter

-Four baking potatoes

-Plastic seal-able bags

-Foil

This recipe serves four people.

Directions

After defrosting your steaks for a couple of hours, take them out and wash them. Lay them on a chopping board, while you cut two cloves of garlic in half. Use each half to scrub down one side of a steak. Think this step is all for show? Take a whiff of the steaks when you're down scrubbing – you'll see that it's not.

Once the steaks have been thoroughly rubbed down, pepper them on each side. Put each one into a seal-able plastic bag, and pour half the bottle of Bold and Spicy sauce into each bag. Close the bag up, and put them back in the refrigerator for two hours.

About an hour after you've put the meat back in the fridge, start preparing your potatoes. Wash them off. Lay each one out on a piece of foil on a baking sheet. Put a dollop of butter on the foil, and sprinkle salt and pepper on top of the potato. Seal the potato up with the foil, and let them bake in the oven for approximately 30 minutes at 375 degrees.

Now you can take your steaks back out. Put each steak in a frying pan and cook them for approximately four minutes on each side. Switch the oven from bake to broil on high while you're doing this. When the steaks are done in the frying pan, put them on a baking sheet, pepper them up a bit more and stick them in the oven to be broiled. Depending on how well done you want your steaks, leave them in for between 10 and 25 minutes.

What to do with the potatoes during this time you ask? We took them out of the oven, removed the foil and stuck them in the microwave on the baked potato setting. They were deliciously soft and seasoned.

After the steak is done, remove it from the oven and enjoy with additional Bold and Spicy Sauce if you so desire.

When many people think of steak, their minds often head right to a glass of red wine or a bottle of beer. If those are your drinks of choice, dive right in. However, why not channel the spirit of dinner and drink date nights?

Fill a glass halfway up with ice, pour in diet or regular soda, add a jigger of vodka and a splash of lemon juice for a tasty twist.

Thank you for this wonderful article on a good man pushed to the brink. I appriciate the fact thisRead More came form the heart and did not hold back. As Sacristan at Cure of Ars, I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Rich (as I called him) for some time. He was a man of faith and a pleasure to see. Always with a smile and kind word, you would never know what was going on the way he acted. This was a wonderful and insightful article. It is heartbreaking to think that where there was once love between 2 people, things got to the point where one persons life was destroyed by those who could and did for no apparent reason other than having the ability to do so. God will have mercy on Dr. Rich and the ex-wife and "Judge" should pray for the same given their actions.
