Student Approached by Stranger in Merrick

The incident occurred on Lindenmere Drive near Lake End Road, according to an email sent to parents by the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District.

A female high school student was approached by a man on Lindenmere Drive near Lake End Road on Wednesday, according to an email sent to parents from the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District.

The incident occurred around 8 a.m. 
 
The student was approached by a white man between the ages of 25 and 30, according to the district. The suspect attempted to engage the girl in conversation and convince her to enter his car, which was blue.

The incident was reported to the Nassau County Police Department, the district said.
