Not Just Books: This Week's Library Events

There are a variety of things going on at the Merrick and North Merrick libraries this week.

Many people would be surprised to find out how many things actually go on at the library. Most things at the Merrick and North Merrick libraries are even free to residents.

Monday at the Merrick Library, get ready for Thanksgiving with Gobble, Gobble Cupcakes for grades K-2 at 4 p.m. and for grades 3-6 at 5:15 p.m. Girl Scout Troop 2467 is meeting at the North Merrick Library at 3:30 p.m. to work on a badge.

Tuesday, find your zen at the Merrick Library with Intermediate Yoga at 5:30 p.m. The North Merrick Library has registration for Jump for Joy at for toddlers 18 months to 4 years at 10 a.m., then Play Hooray Babies at 10:30 a.m. and Play Hooray Kids with a Thanksgiving Theme at 11:15 a.m.

Wednesday, Finals Week begins at the Merrick Library at 9 a.m. Students, don't forget to reserve your study space. Contact the Media Desk for more info 516-377-6112 ext. 125. The Merrick Library will be closing at 5 p.m. today for the Thanksgiving holiday. The North Merrick gets the kids in a Thanksgiving mood with a Marshmallow Pilgrim Hat craft at 7 p.m.

Thursday, both the Merrick and North Merrick Libraries will be closed for Thanksgiving.

Friday, Finals Week continues the Merrick Library beginning at 9 a.m. and there will be a Drop-In Craft for children and caregivers at 1 p.m. Register at the North Merrick Library for Let's Move With Play Hooray beginning at 10 a.m. and Girl Scout Legos at 2 p.m.
