Not Just Books: This Week's Library Events

There are a variety of things going on at the Merrick and North Merrick libraries this week.

Many people would be surprised to find out how many things actually go on at the library. Most things at the Merrick and North Merrick libraries are even free to residents.

Monday, the Merrick Library offers No Impact Exercise class at 12 p.m. The North Merrick Library will have a class on Medicare and Supplement Coverage at 1:30 p.m. Contact Carol Kaplowitz, 631-422-1674.

Tuesday, the Merrick Library has Kindergarten Storytime at 4:00 p.m. The North Merrick Library has Jump for Joy for children 18 months to 4 years at 10:30 a.m., Zentangle at 7 p.m. and then Registration for the Winter/Holiday Card Workshop also at 7 p.m.

Then on Wednesday, the Merrick Library is offering All Levels Yoga at 9:15 a.m., Tai Chi Advanced at 11 a.m. and Tots Night Out for children 18 months through 5 years at 7 p.m. The North Merrick Library has Just We Two for children 2 to 3 ½ at 10:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. and Registration for Tot's Night Out at 7 p.m.

Thursday at the Merrick Library, the Merrick Kiwanis Monthly Meeting and Defense Driving class both begin at 7 p.m. The LEGO Club for Tweens meets at the North Merrick Library at 4 p.m. and the Girl Scouts meet at 7:30 p.m.

Friday, 3 Year Old Storytime begins at the Merrick Library at 1:30 p.m. Register at the North Merrick Library for Tai Chi at 10 a.m., then Picture Book for children 3 ½ to 4 begins at 11 a.m. and Teen Crochet at 4 p.m.
