Not Just Books: This Week's Library Events

There are a variety of things going on at the Merrick and North Merrick libraries this week.

Many people would be surprised to find out how many things actually go on at the library. Most things at the Merrick and North Merrick libraries are even free to residents.

Monday at the Merrick Library, babies 3 to 17 months can enjoy Play Hooray with Mollie Mouse at 10:30 a.m., then toddlers 18 to 48 months have their turn at 11:15 a.m. The North Merrick Library has a AARP Driving Course at 10:30 a.m.

Tuesday is Game Day at the Merrick Library, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., bring a group and whatever you need to play. Then at 4 p.m. is Kindergarten Storytime. The North Merrick Library hosts Art: The Mystery of Johannes Vermeer at 1:30 p.m. and then a Holiday Cards Craft for grades 1 – 6 at 7 p.m.

Wednesday, the Merrick Library has Toddler Storytime at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. and a young adult's Creative Writing Workshop With Jen Calonita at 4:15 p.m. The North Merrick Library has Just We Two for children 2 to 3 ½ at 10:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. and Tot's Night Out at 7 p.m.

Thursday at the Merrick Library Tai Chi from the Arthritis Foundation begins at 10 a.m. and Defensive Driving continues at 7 p.m. The North Merrick Library has Just We Two for ages 2 – 3 ½ at 10:30 a.m.

On Friday the Merrick Library hosts Friday Films at 2 p.m., featuring “Crazy, Stupid Love.” The North Merrick Library has Picture Book for children 3 ½ to 4 at 11 a.m. and Girl Scouts Troop 2156 meeting at 4 p.m.
