Not Just Books: This Week's Library Events

There are a variety of things going on at the Merrick and North Merrick libraries this week.

Many people would be surprised to find out how many things actually go on at the library. Most things at the Merrick and North Merrick libraries are even free to residents.

Monday at the Merrick Library, adults and teens can participate in Make & Take A Gingerbread House beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for Pooh's Winter Tale and Winter Song and Puppetry Celebration will be available at the North Merrick Library beginning at 10 a.m. and Teen Advisory Board meets at 4 p.m.

Tuesday at the Merrick Library, Winter Holiday PJ Storytime for children 3 ½ – 6 will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the Merrick Library Board of Trustees will meet at 7 p.m.. The North Merrick Library has Play Hooray Babies at 10:30 a.m. and Play Hooray Kids at 11:15 a.m.

Wednesday, the Merrick Library has its Monthly Book Discussion on “Keeping the House” by Ellen Baker at 2:30 p.m. and Wednesday Wonders for registered 1st and 2nd graders at 4 p.m. The North Merrick Library will host a Film Festival from 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Thursday at the Merrick Library, The Friends of the Merrick Library will meet at 4:30 p.m. and Winter Holiday PJ Storytime for children 3 ½ – 6 begins at 6:30 p.m. The LEGO Club for Tweens will meet at the North Merrick Library at 4 p.m. and the North Merrick Community Association will meet at 7 p.m.

On Friday the Merrick Library has 3 Year Old Storytime at 1:30 p.m. Girl Scout Troop 2156 will meet at he North Merrick Library at 4 p.m.
