Not Just Books: This Week's Library Events

Many people would be surprised to find out how many things actually go on at the library. Most things at the Merrick and North Merrick libraries are even free to residents.

Monday at the Merrick Library, No Impact Exercise classes will take place at 12 p.m. and then the SAT Preparation Workshop is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. AARP 55/Alive will meet at the North Merrick Library from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tuesday, the Merrick Library has Kindergarten Storytime with stories and a craft starting at 4 p.m. then a Beginner's Yoga classes at 5:30 p.m. The North Merrick Library hosts Applique with Alice Palmer at 10 a.m., then a Halloween Picture Frame Craft for grades 2 to 6 at 7 p.m. and registration for Tot's Night Out, ages 18 months to 5 years, also begins at 7 p.m.

On Wednesday, the Merrick Library has Advanced Tai Chi-Yang Style scheduled for 11 a.m., Creative Writing for Young Adults at 4:15 p.m. and a young adult Cooking Class at 6:30 p.m. At the North Merrick Library, there will be Just We Two at 10:30 and 11:15 a.m. then Snacks and Stories for grades K-2 at 4 p.m.

Then on Thursday, the Merrick Library is offering Spooky Silhouettes for children grades 3 to 6 at 4:30 p.m., and The Friends of the Merrick Library monthly meeting will take place at 4:30 p.m. The North Merrick Library is having its Halloween Spooktacular at 7 p.m. 

On Friday, the Merrick Library hosts Parent/Child 1,2,3 at 10:30 a.m. and 3 Year Old Storytime at 1:30 p.m. Register at the North Merrick Library for Chocolate Cornucopia starting at 4 p.m., then the Beach Bag Book Club has a Spooky Session at 7 p.m.
