MacArthur Teachers Release 'What Does the Fox Say?' Parody

The MacArthur High School staff just wants to know what the Fox says. When Ylvis released the popular song "What Does the Fox Say?" on YouTube, the video received more than 219 million views. The idea was to use the video as part of the October talent show, Mary Anne Sanchez, one of the video's stars and a teacher of social studies and psychology, said. The video has garnered north of 20,000 views as of Thursday. Click here for more.

Breitkopf Honored in Massapequa Park

A plaque has been placed in Massapequa Park in honor of a Nassau County police officer  who was killed in the line of duty in 2011. The bronze memorial to officer Geoffrey Breitkopf was placed at the corner of Clark Boulevard and Front Street on Saturday by the Nassau County PBA. Seaford Library to Make Technology Improvements

The Seaford library is about to get a technology upgrade, courtesy of some state funding. The library will receive money secured by State Sen. Charles Fuschillo, R-Merrick. It will be used to upgrade computers and other equipment and will also fund the purchase of a public access  scanner. Click here for more. 

North Bellmore Boy Honored by American Legion Auxiliary

David Collins, 12, of North Bellmore was presented with the American Legion Auxiliary Youth Hero Award at a ceremony held at the Cradle of Aviation Museum on Saturday. While in a pool with other children at a graduation party this past June, Collins noticed another boy laying in the bottom of the pool’s deep end. Click here for more.
