More On Street Flooding

Street flooding as cited on Merrick Patch at http://bellmore.patch.com/groups/weather/p/nearby-flooding-at-wantagh-state-parkway-entrance is an ongoing threat to public safety. Two intersections are shown here merely as examples of improper neglect by the town. Furthermore, debris is often swept into open sewer gratings.

Yes Zach life according to Mr. Dunn.......... 2 inches of water on the street = Threat to public safety....................5 feet of water on the street (via Hurricane Sandy) = Tragic............... And Mr. Dunn do you know what the Merrick Fire Department did on the night of Sandy? They traveled around the STREETS in South Merrick in BOATS, not their trucks. So, excuse me if I'm not up in arms about random puddles from the melting snow around Merrick.

And on top of the 2 inches, 5 feet, my house also had 3 FEET of water, which is costing me over $100k in damages. And John- That's a threat. Not 2 inches after melting snow

So according to you then, nobody has any right to complain about home damage from Hurricane Sandy because the national calamiity in Japan from the tsunami at Fukushima Daiichi was far worse. That kind of thinking seems to me utterly warped. The flooding and sewer overflow in Merrick produced still another public hazrd apart from the physcial effects in the phtographs thus far. I will put that on Patch later today.

Mr. Dunn, those were your words when I was worried about 5 feet of water in my street and home. You said it was "tragic", but not dangerous.

I think the main problem in merrick isn't the flooding, or the sewers, but the strange odor over on merrick ave by the temples, it really emulates every saturday. Almost smells like the dead sea
