MERRICK JEWISH CENTRE COMMEMORATES KRISTALLNACHT WITH EVENING PROGRAM

MERRICK JEWISH CENTRE TO COMMEMORATE KRISTALLNACHT

WITH TWO PROGRAMS

 

The Merrick Jewish Centre invites the community to two
special programs to remember the tragic events that took place in Germany on
November 9, 1938 during the “Night of Broken Glass.”

 

The Kristallnacht commemoration programming will take place
on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the Merrick Jewish Centre, 225 Fox Blvd., Merrick, NY 11566.

 

 11:00 am – 12:30 pm: Beth Lilach, Senior Director of
Education and Community Affairs at the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center
in Glen Cove, N.Y. will be the guest speaker.

 

 7:30 – 9:00 pm: Marisa Fasciano of the Holocaust Memorial
and Tolerance

Center will provide historical context. She will be joined
by current Long Islanders Werner and Lottie Hess, who will discuss their
memories of living through the events that took place during Kristallnacht.
