LION to Rally for Animals on Saturday

The organization urges Gov. Andrew Cuomo to sign a bill that will allow local municipalities to regulate pet stores.

Long Island Orchestrating for Nature will hold a rally at Worldwide Puppies and Kittens in Bellmore on Saturday to urge Gov. Andrew Cuomo to sign a bill that will allow local municipalities to regulate pet stores.

The organization claims that Worldwide Puppies and Kittens sells seriously sick and dying cats and dogs to the public.

Last month, members of LION gathered outside of Merrick Furs  to protest the store’s opening for the fall season.

The rally will take place at 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

LION's mission is to "educate the public about animals and to advocate for their needs."
