Host a Barbecue Without the Hassle

With Memorial Day rapidly approaching, consider having a service take over your barbecuing duties.

The barbecue is still lying untouched in the backyard, and it really needs a thorough cleaning after all of the abuse the weather threw at it this year.

Plastic chairs are stacked up in a corner, and a few sweeps with a rag wouldn’t exactly hurt them either. Setting up the backyard was entirely comprised of pulling out the most comfortable lounge chair so that you could start working on your tan.

Such a relaxing picture, right? But, whoops! Memorial Day is just around the corner and guess what? You promised to host this year! And so the panic begins…hiring landscapers, touching up the paint on the porch and buying a plethora of burgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob and ice cold beer.

Make life a little bit easier on yourself, and consider having Memorial Day - and any other barbecues this summer - catered by either Guy Anthony’s or the Merrick Bagel Café. Both offer tantalizing packages to make your guests mouths drool.

At Guy Anthony’s, all of the barbecue packages are for a minimum of 25 guests and they all include paper goods. Consider the basic BBQ menu at $16.95 per guest, which includes the following summer staples: hotdogs, cheeseburgers, hamburgers, sausage and peppers, a choice of chicken, corn on the cob, a choice of salads and watermelon.

For $25 to $27 per guest, depending on the number of people, consider upgrading to the upscale BBQ menu. Additional items in this delicious bundling include fresh shucked clams, steamed mussels and clams, marinated teriyaki steak, Italian ices and other delectable delights.

Similar menus are available at the Merrick Bagel Café for parties of 50 guests or more. On top of the scrumptious main menu items, they offer various add-on options. Purchase your standard package and then upgrade to have skirt steak, beef kebobs, tuna steak, filet mignon or even a pig added to the affair.

To be the perfect summer host, offer tasty appetites and desserts to keep guests happy from the moment they stop on to your property to the moment that they depart. Start off with cheese platters, bagels and cream cheese, salsa and chips and some other summertime favorites. Top off the night with one of the sweet-tooth satisfying dessert options that the Merrick Bagel Café has to offer. Recall the camping trips of your youth with a s'mores set up or an ice cream cart to cool down after a long day.
