Dangerous Broken Telephone Pole Near Elementary School

There is a broken Verizon telephone pole at the following address: 125 Merrick Avenue Merrick, NY 11566. This address is directly across the street from the Roland Chatterton Elementary School.

The pole appears to have been hit by a motor vehicle. It is bent at what appears to be an increasing angle as time goes by. It appears to be at a stage of imminent collapse.

I am seeking replacemen of the broken telephone pole. However, the utility company response has been non-cooperative.

I spoke with Verizon on Sept. 18th, Oct. 9th, Oct. 11th, Oct. 15th and Oct. 16th. I have also spoken with staff at The Town of Hempstead. Both have been to no avail as each insists that the broken pole is the other's responsibility.

The problem remains unresolved. The dangerous situation remains.
