NCMCA Community Service Scholarship

On behalf of the North and Central Merrick Civic Association, President Claudia Borecky presented Calhoun H.S. Senior Shelby Behrman with its third annual Community Service Scholarship. We provide civic and legislative community service opportunities all year round out of Legislative Dave Denenberg’s district office in Bellmore.

The NCMCA values the charitable work that our youth do in our community. Through volunteerism, our children develop values that they take with them for the rest of their lives.

Our children define our community and Merrick is blessed with gifted youth. It is through their eyes that we vision a better world; from their hearts we could feel the world’s pains; and from their minds we will find solutions to our world’s problems.

Shelby Behrman understands what it means to give. Shelby worked very hard to raise money and awareness of Leukemia and Lymphoma. Shelby really cares. The North and Central Merrick Civic Association wishes Shelby success in her future.
