On Tuesday, the big news came out of Hempstead Town Hall as the town board adopted strict new regulations on cell towers and antennas.  The county may raise field fees on private adult leagues, but leave little leagues alone. A hunger summit at Adelphi addressed the growing problem on Long Island. In sports news, Long Beach downed Calhoun in girls volleyball.

On Wednesday, we had coverage of the North Merrick Community's Association's first volunteer fair. The Town of Hempstead officially appointed two Merokeans to a reactivated Southeastern Nassau County Water Authority to study a public takeover of Aqua. We also told you about an article posted on the Vanity Fair website about Lindsay Lohan that included the line, "No one aspires to live in Merrick." We had your weekly Merrick Crime Report. In soccer action, Calhoun edged Mepham.

On Thursday, we began the day with coverage of a hard fought draw between the Calhoun and Kennedy girls soccer squads. On the volleyball court, the Kennedy boys team swept Calhoun.

On Friday, we were at Brookside School for the dedication of new 9/11 memorial featuring a piece of steel from the fallen World Trade Center. We told you where you can find a job right here in Merrick. Mepham edged Kennedy in boys soccer and the Calhoun girls soccer team blew out Elmont
