Three Teenagers Robbed at Merrick LIRR Station

Teenage suspect demanded money from the victims, police say.

Three male teenagers, two 16-year-olds and a 17 year old, were robbed at the Merrick Railroad Station on Wednesday at around 2:30 a.m., police said.

According to the Nassau County Police, Courtney Clarke, 15, of Staten Island, approached the victims as they exited the train. Clarke displayed a black hand gun, which turned out to be a pellet gun, and demanded money from the three teenagers, police said. The victims then turned over money and an iPhone to Clarke, police said.

The teenagers reported the incident to a police officer, who was able to locate Clarke and place him under arrest.

The defendant is charged with two counts of robbery in the second degree and one count of attempted robbery in the second degree.
