Police Confirm Three Home Break-Ins on Friday

Access gained through rear windows at each home, police say.

Thieves broke into three Merrick homes last Friday and stole jewelry, police said.

The burglars gained access through rear windows in all three incidents, which took place on Clubhouse Road, Arbor Lane and at an apartment on Sunrise Highway between 7 p.m.- 9:50 p.m., a Seventh Precinct crime analyst told Patch Monday morning.

Merokeans were on edge last February after 10 residential burglaries were reported over the first eight days of that month. Until Friday, things had been relatively quiet on that front.  A Freeport man was arrested in May for two of the February burglaries.
