Not Just Books: This Week's Library Events
There is a variety of events taking place at the Merrick and North Merrick libraries this week.
How often do you visit the library?
Many people would be surprised to find out how many things actually go on at the library. Most things at the Merrick and North Merrick libraries are even free to residents.
On Tuesday, animal specialists from the Town of Hempstead will be at the Merrick Library at 10:30 a.m. for a pet care class, where they will demonstrate proper treatment of pets.
Participants in the Beach Bag Book Club from both the North Merrick and Merrick libraries can meet at the Merrick Library at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday for a book discussion.
On Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. you can head to the North Merrick Library for a showing of The Bounty Hunter. Need some help in your career? Then get over to the Merrick Library between 1 and 4 p.m. for a one on one session with a certified career counselor.
On Thursday there will be a free Hurricane and Emergency Preparedness Forum at the Merrick Library at 7 p.m. Residents can learn the many ways to be prepared for a hurricane or any other natural disaster.
On Friday, end the week at the Merrick Library for the weekly film. Light refreshments are served, and it's free.
