Election 2011: Denenberg Defeats Jones for 19th Legislative District
Denenberg will serve another two years in office after being elected for a seventh term.
Democrat Dave Denenberg won his re-election Tuesday against Republican challenger Dr. Fred Jones for a seat representing the 19th Legislative District.
Denenberg captured more than 73 percent of the vote against the non-incumbent, Jones.
Jones told Patch that although he did not come out the victor, he wanted to thank all of the people that worked hard on his campaign.
"I also hope that the new legislator will see that we have to make some changes in the county," Jones added.
Denenberg did not respond to Patch's request for a comment as of press time.
Denenberg is a ranking member of the Planning, Development and the Environment and Public Works Committees and member of the Finance, Government Services and Operations and Public Safety Committees. He is the only legislator to maintain a district office, doing so at his own expense. He also hosts bimonthly public meetings.

The Republicans never put much effort into running a campaign in this district too many of the residents regardless of party love Denenberg. He listens to his constituents and is always around rallying for whatever cause the residents put into view. Good man and a hard worker, and overlooked by his own party because he is not as partisan as Yaturo
